I have crossed to the other side! I stumbled on this super easy, super cute recipe and have now become a … dun, dun, dun! Pinterest MOM! But you guys! You can totally pull off these adorable treats! It took less than 10 minutes!
All you will need is a box of rice cereal, a bag of marshmallows, yellow and red food coloring, and green and brown tootsie rolls.
Recipe
- Measure the marshmallows and rice cereal according to the recipe on the box.
- After the marshmallows have melted, add red food coloring. (We added about 7 drops, but my son added the food coloring so 7 is not technical LOL, just add enough red until you feel like it might be a good orange base).
- Add the yellow food coloring. We added about 5 drops. My oldest daughter added the yellow so this is probably a bit more accurate. If you don’t like the vibrancy of the orange keep adding red or yellow food coloring.
- Stir in the rice cereal.
- Coat your hands with tons of butter to prepare for rolling the marshmallow cereal mixture into balls.
- roll the marshmallow mixture into balls about the size of your palm or smaller.
- Flatten the green tootsie rolls flat, and cut them into triangles. I cut them into three triangles, but you can also cut them diagonally and cut them into two triangles.
- Insert the brown and green tootsie rolls into the top of the balls and voila! Pinterest Worthy Pumpkin Treats!
