Rush Creek Lodge Yosemite #TeamMac Travels
I was given two nights complimentary stay to Rush Creek Lodge Yosemite in exchange for my honest review. The following blog post contains only my opinions. Enjoy! Xo Chantea/,

Four words to describe Rush Creek Lodge!

You have to go!

Rush Creek is the perfect blend of adult retreat and kid heaven! From the outdoor games, zip lines, 24 hour hot tubs and indoor game room. My kids never said the “B” word (bored) the entire time we were there. We didn’t even notice there wasn’t a TV in our two bedroom suit until the middle of the second day! Did you hear me… NO TV and we didn’t even notice!!! And my husband and I enjoyed the amazing view from our balcony, full service restaurant, and chill time while the kids ran wild on the indoor and outdoor play structures.

PROS:

Location- Rush Creek Lodge Yosemite is literally a stone’s throw away from the north entrance of the Yosemite National Park. The resort felt sort of light glamping. The grounds were immaculate so traveling through the Stanislaus National Forest felt clean and safe which is great news to those of you who don’t love the idea of “roughing it.” But if you are totally into a full outdoor experience, there are hiking trails accessible directly from the resort. Yosemite National Park was less than a 10 minute drive from our room.

Family time- I’m guilty of “unwinding” on vacation by letting the kids binge watch whatever kids network the hotels cable network provides. This was not the case here! First there was NO TELEVISION in our room! And guys we didn’t even notice until we were checking off.

There were in room books and games, as well as complimentary smores every night which made for super sweet dreams! And we stayed at Rush Creek Lodge the week before Christmas so the team at Rush Creek had an entire itinerary of fun activities for the kids. And the activity schedule changes seasonally which gives it a real kid friendly resort feel.

Modern amenities- Strong Water pressure, running hot water, zippy Wi-fi! Check! Check! Check! Just in case you were worried that a resort in the middle of the mountains would lack modern amenities let me calm your fears. This resort was just that a resort! With a 24 hour salt water hot tub, full restaurant,

The Food- We always end any trip reflecting on our favorite part of the getaway. Mine was the fireplace in our room, my husband middle daughter and son loved the zip line,  and my oldest daughter… the FOOD! This totally surprised me not because the food wasn’t excellent, but because what kid would choose food over zip lines and swimming in the middle of winter. We literally ate at the on-site restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner for two and a half days and loved every option we tried. I do think the meals rotated based on the season. I especially loved the mini duck tacos with Korean barbeque sauce, Kimchi slaw and house made tortillas. The kids loved the pizza and mac and cheese. I have attached the fall 2018 menu here.

Cons:

This resort is remote, so eating at the on site restaurant is almost your only convenient choice. The closest big box store or grocery store is about a 30 minute car drive, so to us, it wasn’t worth the inconvenience to pack up the team to save a few bucks.

The prices on the menu were fair and the food was delicious, but I do wish I would have packed some easy snacks and maybe even an easy to go lunch options like PB & Js for at least one day.

Overall Rating-

My yelp review would read as follows! Great family resort! Super close drive to Yosemite. The perfect mix for adult retreat and family time fun! Don’t skip the on-site restaurant you won’t regret it! Click here to book your next trip and check out current room rates.
