Back to School with Walmart

Oh snap! School has started. What are we going to do! FIRST!!! we are going to breathe, then we are going to grab the back to school list and the dress code details from your kid’s school. You know which one… the one that you wished you would have gotten before you bought ALL of the school clothes!!! And now we are going to go BACK and shop again for back to school. 🤦‍♀️😂

My favorite back to school shopping hacks!

Buy doubles

You know those basic pants, that fit your son or daughter so perfectly? I am going to need you to go ahead and grab two pairs right now! Grab one in the current size and one a few sizes too big. Especially since right now it’s on sale, and later it won’t be.

That also goes for school supplies. Just go ahead and grab two sets of crayons and two sets of markers. And a second homework folder won’t kill you either.

When in doubt… leave the logo out!

I am so surprised how many schools are allowing kids to wear hats, and fun backpacks. But if you are not sure if your school will allow the logo, just grab a plain one without a logo when you go back to school shopping. Especially if your kids are too young to care about a brand name. 

Don’t Overspend

You already know your kids are literally only going to wear these clothes for one season! So don’t overspend. I love to get my kids clothes from Walmart, because it makes growing pains so much less painful for all of us. 

Walmart has great value and their Garanimals line washes and wears so well. And you can’t beat the price as most of their tops and bottoms are under $5! SCORE

Give yourself Grace when Back to School Shopping

Every time I think I am done shopping for back to school I find 10 more items that the kids need. This can be frustrating but I have learned to give myself grace and to order things online whenever possible. I used Walmart.com to order the kids backpacks and clothes, it made it so easy and I know when I need to restock I will use Walmart.com again.

I pray this back to school brings you peaceful transitions back into the routines. Before we even know it, we will be planning for summer break again!
